- I suspect this phenomena is a universal constant; it used to happen to me
- all the time when I had a car - a Vauxhall Chevette (or shuvvit, as it was
- endearingly known). Perhaps my "choice" of car did not help. Anyway, the
- culprit was rarely a slow car, rather it was a poor driver, generally a
- cronologically challenged individual.

- Frankly, that is indicative of poor engineering. A 2 litre car should have
- more than enough power to negotiate mountain roads and so on. There are
- mountains in Europe too, you know, and people have no problems with that
- type of car here. Still, I suppose you have bigger mountains or something
- in the USA.
-
- BTW, if the hills are *that* bad, perhaps you should invest in a Land Rover
- or something, some models of which, incidentally, have a 2 litre engine,
- and are capable of climbing a 22 degree slope...

- The Scandanavians have atrocious driving condtitions, yet seem to manage
- without oversized penile extensions. As with so much these days, it comes
- down to good engineering practice rather than brute force approaches. Ooeerr.

- I'll say one word - "Volvo".
-
- >Btw, my car (which goes 120mph and happily holds most of my possessions)
-
- That's what I dislike about American cars - they have huge engines, look
- great, can transport a small army, and so on, but they have absymal top
- speeds. In general, a 2 litre European car could achieve a top speed of
- 120 mph.

- Erm, aye, two good points.
